(1) If anyone violates this Act or the rules made under this Act, the designated officer may fine him up to five thousand rupees and if any person has suffered loss due to such offense, he may also be required to pay compensation for such loss.
(2) If a person is required to obtain a permit under this Act and uses the water source without obtaining it or without complying with the conditions mentioned in the permit, the designated officer may fine him up to five thousand rupees and stop such work.
(3) If someone steals or misuses or uses unauthorized water resources or the services generated from such water resources according to this Act, the designated authority may collect the violation from him and may also fine him according to the violation.
(4) If any person maliciously demolishes, defaces or in any way causes damage to any water spring, dam, canal or any structure related to the use of water resources or any other structure affecting such structure or encourages any such act or engages in any such act, from him He may be fined or imprisoned for up to ten years or both after collecting the damages.
